Oversheeting can be adapted for most pitched roofs and cladding. This means the original roof or cladding remains in place providing weather protection, whilst a proprietary spacer bar system is installed to support the new covering.
A choice of roof and cladding coverings can be utilised such as colour coated steel and aluminium profiled sheeting. Standing seam and concealed fix systems are available for low-pitch roof applications.
Oversheeting also provides an ideal opportunity to incorporate additional insulation, thereby reducing heat loss through reducing energy costs, meeting current Building Regulations and complying with upcoming 2030 EPC requirements.
Our head office is based in Sutton, Surrey and provide roofing refurbishment services to most of the Southern counties including Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, East Sussex, Essex, Gloucestershire, Greater London, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Surrey, West Sussex and Wiltshire.
Pitched Roof Refurbishment – Aldershot, Hampshire
The large roof to this indoor tennis centre was covered with coated steel profiled sheeting that was suffering from severe rust corrosion at the laps, deteriorated GRP rooflights and leaking fasteners. Several repair options were considered, however oversheeting was selected by our client due to its guaranteed performance and longevity.
A structural survey was conducted by an independent engineer to ensure suitability of the new roof covering and the green light given to start works.
External scaffolding and internal fall arrest safety netting was erected to provide a safe working area.
Initially the existing deteriorated GRP translucent panels are replaced with new items of matching profile to provide the maximum natural daylight onto the tennis courts below.
The new roof oversheeting system was then installed which comprises lightweight galvanised spacer bars, non-combustible quilt insulation to meet Part L2B of current Building Regulations and plastisol coated steel profiled roof sheeting with strips of GRP translucent panels positioned over existing rooflight locations.
