Asbestos-cement sheeting removal and encapsulation

Asbestos-cement roof sheeting was invented in the late 19th century and became popular due to its low cost, fire resistance and water tightness. In the 1970’s it was acknowledged that exposure to asbestos is harmful to health and its use was progressively prohibited.

Asbestos-cement roof sheeting is deemed as a fragile material by the HSE, therefore access for repairs can be an expensive and potentially disruptive operation. Experience has shown that repairs are only a short-term option, and that consideration to be made for a viable long-term solution.

The preferred methods are to over-sheet or completely replace, both leaving a non-fragile insulated covering with long-term guarantee. Of course, each system has its own merits, and we would be pleased to advise the best course of action for your property.
