Brief Project Description: RoofTech have recently secured a roof over-sheeting and solar PV installation project in Hitchin.

The works involve installing a new lightweight galvanised steel spacer bar system fixed directly to the purlins through the existing steel roof covering. This provides a secure fixing for the new roof while maintaining the integrity of the existing structure.

A new 240mm thick glassfibre quilt insulation layer will be installed to improve the thermal performance and achieve compliance with current Building Regulations Part L2B 2022. New glassfibre reinforced polyester (GRP) rooflights will also be incorporated to maximise natural daylight within the building.

To complete the refurbishment, a new single-skin steel roof covering will be installed, together with new flashings and purpose made details to provide a durable, weatherproof finish.

As part of the project, RoofTech will also install an 80 panel solar PV system across the four units, providing the client with an integrated roofing and renewable energy solution.
