Project Completion in Aylesbury

Brief Project Description:  RoofTech have now successfully completed the refurbishment of 2 units industrial units in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The works involved removal of  the outer single skin asbestos-cement sheeting, quilt and spacer system leaving the steel liner sheet in place. A new lightweight galvanised steel spacer bar system was then directly fixed through to the purlins to provide support for the new roof sheeting. Laps were sealed in the existing lining panels and new 260mm thick non-combustible glassfibre quilt insulation laid to improve the thermal performance and achieve compliance with current Building Regulations Part L2B 2022. To complete the refurbishment, a new single-skin steel roof covering was installed incorporating new GRP translucent panels over the existing rooflight positions, together with new flashings and purpose made details to provide a durable, weatherproof finish. Other works included replacement of the front internal parapet sheeting and new Plygene gutter liners to the 3 valley gutters serving these units.
