Insulated Over-sheet and Solar PV System – Bedfordshire

Approximate Size: 230m2 roof over-sheeting with a 33kWp solar PV system.

Brief Project Description: RoofTech have recently secured a roof over-sheeting and solar PV installation project in Flitwick.

The works involve installing a new lightweight galvanised steel spacer bar system fixed directly to the purlins through the existing steel roof covering. This provides a secure fixing for the new roof while maintaining the integrity of the existing structure.

A new 260mm thick non-combustible glassfibre quilt insulation layer will be installed to improve the thermal performance and achieve compliance with current Building Regulations Part L2B 2022. 

To complete the refurbishment, a new single-skin colour coated steel roof covering will be installed, together with new purpose made flashings to provide a durable, weatherproof finish.

As part of the project, RoofTech will also install and commission a new 33kWp solar PV system which will produce in excess of 30,000kWh of clean electricity per year.
