After a tender process that involved exploring various options available to them, a resin manufacturer has awarded RoofTech the contract to refurbish their Resin Plant in Mitcham, Surrey.
The project will involve stripping of hazardous asbestos-cement roof and wall coverings and replacement with new composite panels to meet current Building Regulation ‘U’ values, incorporating triple skin factory assembled rooflights in the roof with a 25 year non-fragility performance.
New steel eaves gutters will be installed along with uPVC rainwater pipes. The outside edge of the gutter will be concealed using a fascia flashing therby enhancing the overall appearance.
The existing northlight glazing will be replaced with new 6mm thick GRP panels including new glazing bars.
At the end of the project, RoofTech will be installing a permanent safetyline system to provide safe access for future maintenance.
The project has many disciplines and some awkward detailing but RoofTech’s dedicated contracts department will be overseeing the smooth running of the project along with the support of our in-house Health & Safety advisor.
